June Birthday Cards

Here are some of the June birthday cards I made.  All of them were fun to do, but, of course, some of them were more fun than others!

This card was made in response to a challenge to use something old, something new.  Normal people would usually think "Wedding".  My thoughts were an old stamp and a new stamp, old paper or flowers and new paper or flowers.
My old stamp was the books that newer stamp Editor Tilda was sitting on.
The large gardenia flower was an older one from Magnolia and was in my stash.  The tiny roses were very new as I had just received them a day or two before from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The  Kraft card base and Handsome Hunter layer were old papers, as was the Prima Herbal Garden used behind Tilda and the books.
The background paper was from a brand new DCWV stack called The Primrose.
Tilda was colored with Copics.

Here is the open view.  The label was from The Primrose stack and was mounted on SU Handsome Hunter card stock.  The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Happy Birthday, Tabitha.  I hope you enjoyed your card.

The next card was super simple to make, but was very stunning in real life.

The card base was Stampin' Up paper, but I can't remember which one.  The background paper was from DCWV The Solstice stack.  It was shiny and glittery and required sunglasses to look at it!!
Princess Tilda with Curl was colored with Copics and mounted on Cryogen White.

This beautiful label was in the Solstice stack.  I simply stamped Happy Birthday with an SU stamp and the card was done!!
I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Denise Holland!

This card was difficult to pull together and I am not entirely happy with the final results.  Sweet Pea Tilda was colored with Copics and mounted on a Spellbinders Labels Ten.
I had just received the castle and flag dies from Magnolia-licious and had to try them out.
The flowers were from Prima and were in my stash.
The card base was SU's So Saffron.
The background paper was from My Mind's Eye Simply Delightful stack.

The open view shows the sentiment stamped on another Labels Ten piece.  The flowers are from Prima.
Happy birthday, Julia!  I hope you enjoyed your card.

I'll be back with the rest of my June birthday cards in a few days.
Thank you so much for stopping by and looking at my cards.  I love when you stop by and leave comments!  Have a very blessed week.

Tilda's Town Challenge # 56 - Anything Goes

This week I managed to get a card done for Tilda's Town Challenge #56 - Anything Goes!  I really love anything goes - it just leaves the door wide open for any type of card.

This week I have chosen a card that I think many, many people will relate to.

Sneezing Tilda looks like I have felt many days this spring!  Fortunately the Copic markers I love don't have any ill effects on me :D

The background paper is from Magnolia's Mini Princes and Princesses paper pack,  The bubbles in the water reminded me of allergens floating around in the air from the flowers.  I added little asters on top of some printed flowers for a 3-D effect.
The phrases were computer generated in Word Art.
The stamps came from an old Cornish Heritage Farms Get Well Centers set and were perfect for this card!

The feathers and little dots look like even worse allergens than the bubbles in the water :-(
I never leave home without a supply of soft tissues, so I've included one for you.

I hope you have enjoyed my attempt at humor over a condition I have really suffered from this year.

I am entering this card in Tilda's Town Challenge #56 - Anything Goes.
I will also be using it for my June Mingles card theme of Anything Goes.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave a comment and let me know if you like my humor!

Congratulations Card for Josiah

Good morning all you Maggie lovers!  We have had some beautiful weather the last few days.  Today is raining, but we really need rain. My hubby and I have worked really hard this past week and got our veggie garden all in.

My card for today is a celebration/congratulations card for a young man from our church who has made a name for himself playing soccer.  I'm not sure of all his accomplishments, but they were many!

All of  his accomplishments call for a very special card, which I am entering in the Tilda's Town Challenge #55 - Let's Celebrate.

The image is Soccer Edwin and colored with Copic markers.
The papers are from a We Are Memory Keepers 6 x 6 stack called MVP.
The medal is from Magnolia's Sports collection.   The gold circle in the medal center was punched from a scrap of gold glitter paper.  The ribbons were colored with Copics.
The black star was cut using Spellbinders Stars dies and edged with orange rhinestones from a wonderful package of stamping goodies from my friend Lillian.
The orange ribbon was from my stash.
The orange and black are the colors of Josiah's school.  I modified Edwin's shirt to more closely resemble Josiah's shirt and his number.

Here is the card opened.  The font I used to write "Congrats! Way to go, Josiah!" is a little difficult to read in the picture.
The designer paper is from the MVP stack.  The word "For" in the "For the Love"  doesn't show up very well.
The orange star was punched using the Stars dies.  The small stars were punched with Martha Stewart's Star Confetti punch.

We are so proud of Josiah and all that he has accomplished.  Way to go, Josiah!!

Thank you for stopping by and spending some time.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit.
