Birthday card for Pastor

Today I finished up a birthday card for our pastor.  His birthday was a week or so ago, so the theme of the card works out perfectly!  I will enter this card in the Tilda's Town Challenge #110 The Great Outdoors.  I think it will be perfect!

Over a year ago Pastor Eric and another member of the congregation went moose hunting in the wilds of the far north.  I have forgotten exactly where they went.

The card base is Stampin' Up's Baked Brown Sugar.  The background scene was Magnolia's Hiking Background colored with Copics and was stamped on Cryogen 89# White.

Walter the Moose represents the moose that the guys shot and brought home.

The head is now proudly displayed in Pastor and Deby's living room and it is HUGE!

The tree is from a Memory Box die Small Alder Tree.

Here is the open version of the easel card.

Walter looks very proud of himself and is almost laughing at those foolish men trying to take him down.

The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The sentiment panel was cut from SU's Pistachio Pudding cardstock using Spellbider's Labels Seventeen.  The sentiment was computer generated. "The Sorry I Moosed ..." phrase was from Hanna Stamps (no longer in business).  All the phrases have the word moose worked into them.
Here is a closeup of the sentiment panel.
It should be obvious why I chose the birthday cake stamp.  Pastor loves his toys, so the chain saw was a perfect choice.

The two small images are Riley Moose stamps from Riley and Company Online.

I am entering this card in the Tilda's Town Challenge #110 the Great Outdoors.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon!

A Card for an 88th B-day

I still have a lot of older cards to post, but I wanted to show off a new birthday card I made for a friend's 88th birthday.  She came to our church for years until she decided it was time to move to an assisted living facility.

She belonged to several groups who made crafts and such.  She had given me a box of her leftovers from projects she had made.  I wanted to do something very special for her, so I made her a fancy birthday card.

I have used Marianne Designs Creatables #LR0234 and LR0270.  The design was slightly modified from a picture in an Ecstasy Crafts catalog.

The design was die cut first then embossed.  I slightly dampened the Whisper White cardstock with a sponge that I had squeezed out.  That allows the embossing to be very deep.
The roses were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The sheer ribbon was from the stash.
All cardstock was Stampin' Up.

When the center panel is lifted, this is what is underneath!  The tiny roses were Wild Orchid Crafts.

On the reverse of the center flap is the sentiment panel.  I cut the top and bottom by sliding the panel under the die on one end and over the die on the other end as I needed it to be longer than the die.

I hope you have enjoyed this card.  It was a lot of fun to make and the recipient sent me a thank you note saying she loved it and planned to keep it out where she could see it all the time!  Made my day!

Thank you for stopping by and taking time to look at the card.

Friends Birthday Cards

As I was editing the pictures from my camera, I realized not all of them were from the Magnolia birthday list. So here are some for my church friends and special friends. Enjoy!!

The first two cards were belated birthdays for two friends from church.

Both of these ladies work in the church kitchen making snacks for after church fellowship time in the Cafe'. Maureen is in charge of the kitchen. Janet helped with the baking until she took some time off for a knee replacement.

At this time I don't remember which card went to which lady :-(

The card base is from Stampin' Up.
The small designer papers are from the stash.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Tilda is colored with Copics.

The background papers might have been from a Stampin' Up pack.

The ribbon was from the stash.

The silverware die cuts were from Magnolia and were cut from silver glimmer paper.

Here is the other card also with a kitchen theme.

The background paper used here if from SU Domestic Goddess.

Tilda with Cowberry Muffin was colored with Copics.

Ribbon from the stash.
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The silverware was the same as the other card.

The next card was for my dear friend Shirley Emerson.  She and I met when we lived in the same town in Pennsylvania.  She is from New Hampshire and was married to a guy who was a neighbor of mine when we were kids.

We had lost contact for many years. She is back in New Hampshire and I'm in New York. One day I was just looking for names on Facebook and I found her.  We have been in touch a bit since then.  It really is a very small world.

Tilda with Love is so pretty in her purple and yellow outfit to match the iris blooms on the designer paper from K&Co's Cottage Garden.

The fence is Magnolia's Spring Fence.

Both images are colored with Copics.

The mounting panel was cut with Spellbinder's Labels Twenty-three.

The pearls were from the stash.

The die cut flowers were from K&Co's Cottage Garden Accents.

The ribbon was from the stash.

Caroline McKay from church loves Tilda Loves Flowers.  After she opened the card, she was showing everyone!!

Tilda is colored with Copics.
The designer paper is from K&Co's Cottage Garden.

The mouning panel was cut with Spellbinder's Labels Fourteen.

The ribbon is from the stash.

All flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The vine around the sentiment was cut using the Memory Box Twirling Vine Frame die.

I count Norma Lee as a very special friend.  Her cards are absolutely works of art and never cease amaze me.  Her creativity seems to know no bounds.  You can visit her blog here to see for yourself the wonderful things she creates.

Here is the card I created for her.

I used Hello Little Butterfly and Magnolia's Sign images.
They are colored with Copics.

The die cut is from Memory Box's Kensington border.

The card base is SU.

The background paper is from K&Co's Cottage Garden.

The little jewel flower is from my friend Lillian.

The pearls are from the stash.

This shows the center panel and the last panel.  Norma makes tri-fold cards a lot, so I made her a tri-fold that is just a bit different.

The designer paper is all one long sheet.

The rainbow ribbon was from my stash.  I haven't used it before, but it was perfect for this card.

The sentiment was computer generated.

Here is the full card opened up.
I couldn't get the center panel to open for a flat picture.

Here is a close up of Tilda showing how I tried to color her apron and the butterfly to match the one on the designer paper.

I think it came out close!

That's it for me tonight. Thank  you for staying with me through another long post.

Please leave a note to let me know what you think of these cards.

Birthday cards

Today I spent some time editing the pictures of birthday cards I made for January and February birthdays.  As I was working with the list I had made and the pictures, I realized that I had used a lot of winter theme stamps for the cards.

Without further ado, here are the January cards.  All images were stamped on Cryogen White and colored with Copic markers.  The designer papers were from several Christmas pads and stacks.  All card base cardstock is Stampin' Up.

Leslie Krochta's card featured In the Snow Scarf Tilda.

I used Snow-Tex for the snowball Tilda is throwing.

The die cuts were from Memory Box.  Snowflake Corner and a portion of Frostyville Border were cut from a glitter paper from JoAnn's called White Glove.

The mounting panel was cut using Spellbinder's Labels Seventeen.

The flowers are from my stash.

Maddie Perez received a card with A Joyful Tilda on it.

Tilda's hat had Liquid Applique added to the brim and ball on top.

The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The ribbon from my stash.

The mounting panel was cut using Spellbinder's Labels Twenty-Nine.

Show the Way Tilda was showing the way to Melanie Smith for her birthday.

Liquid Applique covered the ball on Tilda's hat.
The flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The ribbon from the stash.

The mounting panel was cut using Spellbinder's Nestabilities Ovals and Labels Twenty-Nine.

Bev Barker received a special treat when Tilda demonstrated her prowess as Ice Tilda skating her way into Bev's heart.

I paper pieced Tilda's sweater and the heart on her muff using paper from Stampin' Up's Sweater Weather designer papers and as the larger mounting panel.  It was just so perfect!

The larger panel was cut using Spellbinder's Grand Labels Eleven.  The smaller panel was Labels Seventeen.
The flowers were from the stash, as was the ribbon.
The top of Tilda's boots were covered with Liquid Applique.

The cards for February birthdays -

Mid Winter Tilda was for Jean Schwabe.

The background paper was from SU's Sweater Weather designer papers.  I again paper pieced Tilda's coat and beret.

Her beret has Liquid Applique on the puff.
The lantern was colored with gold glitter pen.
The flowers were Wild Orchid Crafts.

The ribbon from the stash.

Since Julie Price lives in Australia, her card had a summery feel to it as she was moving into summer while we were freezing in the midst of a very cold winter.

Julie always makes the most wonderful cards.  I wanted my card to her to be something really special.
I used my very best lace from my friend Lillian.
The flower was from Angie Hunt's etsy store.

The butterfly was from Lillian.

Tilda in Evening Dress is mounted on an oval cut with Spellbinder's Floral Ovals - very beautiful.
She looks like she's ready to rest on the Afternoon Tea Bench.

And what could be more special than an easel card?

The sentiment panel was cut with Die-namics Dizzy Doily Duo dies.

The flower was cut using Magnolia's Doily Flower.  I put a piece of wax paper on the paper to help release the die cut, so I just added it to the top of the flower.

I hope Julie appreciated my efforts to make her card very special!!

Thank you for sticking with me through a long post.  I would love to have you leave a comment and let me know what you think of all the cards!

Huggeroonies,

Christmas Cards Continued

Here are the rest of the Christmas cards I made for Christmas, 2013.

All of the images were stamped on Cryogen White cardstock.  Designer papers were from several different pads and stacks and I don't remember which ones now.  All the flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbons and tinsel were from my stash.

This cute little North Pole Tilda was for my daughter, Becky.

I added some Liquid Applique to Tilda's hat and over-sized gloves.

The Day Before Christmas Edwin was for my favorite son in law, Jeff!  He laughs when I say that because he's the only one!

I added some branches punched from glitter paper to the printed boughs on the designer paper.  They were punched using the Martha Stewart Branch punch.

In the Snow Ski Tilda went to my grand daughter, Megan.
I added Snow-Tex to the image and extra stars to the swirls on the background paper.

I used the Memory Box Frosty Border die cut to the bottom.  I used a glitter paper from Joann's called White Gloves for the border.

Of course this was an easel card!
On the bottom section, I added the Memory Box Frostyville Border cut from the same glitter paper.

I don't know what happened to the picture of my grandson Jacob's card, but it was no where to be found on the computer :-(

This is the front of the card for Brandy, Jacob's girlfriend.

Noel Tilda is looks frustrated trying to get her Noel banner to stay untangled while she tried to hang it up.

Here is Brandy's card open showing the Frostyville Border die cut across the bottom.  I really love that border!  The snowflakes were different die cuts.

Skyla is Brandy's older daughter and is a very sweet girl.

Her card features Christmas Eve Tilda mounted on an SU Real Red oval.  I ran a piece of red ribbon around the oval to break up the intense color.  The corner dies are Memory Box Snowflake Corner.

Here's the open view showing the decorated Christmas tree cut using a Magnolia die. I'm not sure what punch the snowflake was.

Brandy's younger daughter Lexi received this card featuring In the Snow Heart Tilda.  The mounting circle and the inner Inverted Scalloped Circle were cut using Nestabilities dies.  That combo produces an interesting look.

The snow hearts are covered with Liquid Applique.  The corner swirl is Memory Box Snowflake Corner.  The tree is a Magnolia die.

This a rather different Christmas card.  I cut the mounting panel using a Marianne Designs die designed by Anja van Laar.  I love the intricate grid in the background of the die.  It was the perfect size to mount The Day Before Christmas Stocking Tilda.

I added Liquid Applique to the cuff of the stocking.

The inside of the card has double panel created by simply cutting the die twice, then cutting on piece in half and attaching the halves to the uncut piece.  The center die and swirls are from the same Marianne Designs set.

For my younger grand daughter, Paula I used In the Snow Ski Tilda.  I added Snow-Tex and Liquid Applique to the image.

The mounting square was cut using the Nestabilities Scalloped Squares.

The corner die is Memory Box Snowflake corner and the bottom border is Frosty Border.

The bottom of the easel card features the Memory Box Frostyville Wreath.  I really love the dies in the Frosty and Frostyville collection.

Thank you for sticking with me through this very long post.  I believe that this catches up all the Christmas cards I made for Christmas, 2013.

Huggeroonies,
